I think this may actually the first "swing" tune that I have ever put together as a tune/recording.

I am fairly sure the the origins of this tune are from the Sax sketches (I think the one with ascending in the file name).

Over time it just evolved into a piano vamp that I would play from time to time here and there or while sitting in and playing intermissions at a club up north in Fort Bragg CA.

Now, as for the Title: 279 refers to the II Dominant 7th 9th chord of the key of the song. In this case,
C7 9 in the key of B Flat. As the tune is kind of centered around the II chord, I put 279 in the title.
